What do we do?

In order to help these children and their parents we offer the following different kinds of help:

  • Consultations for parents, held at home.
  • Individual counselling and support for children and their parents.
  • Support in finding tailor-made assistance in case more or different assistance is needed.
  • Workshops for parents facing similar problems, where we offer advice and parents can share experiences.

  • Training in social skills. For example, we train children how to make friends, how to indicate what they want and don’t want in interacting with others and how to cope with other children and grown-ups.
  • Training in self-sufficiency. An example is that we can train children how to stand up for themselves.

These trainings are group sessions which we offer at schools.

Our consultations are intended to help parents in bringing up their children. Firstly we will visit the parents at their home and discuss the specific behaviour of their children.
In most cases, one intake session and five consultations will be sufficient.

If the parents and their children need more specialised help, we help the parents in finding the best kind of help. In addition, we can help refer parents to the various specialised agencies and/or bureaus in the greater The Hague area. We will not give up until children and parents have found the proper help they need!

What kind of problems can we help tackle?

  • My child is very shy in her/his new class.
  • My child does not want to go to a new school (again).
  • My child is being teased or bullied.
  • My child needs help but I do not know where to go.
  • My child is getting help, but I do not understand the approach, I don’t think it’s helping.
  • General parenting issues such as bedwetting, not listening, etc.
